Camp Street Café & Restaurant
Camp Street Café & Restaurant was first opened in 2014. This lovely cafe re-opened in early summer 2015, after the owner, Dessie Walsh, did a fantastic job of re-furbishing a long time family home. Dessie is a musician as well, so ask nicely and you may well get tunes with your coffee. You will feel relaxed eating here, the food is honest (no potato crisps here) and there’s parking (for café customers only) behind the building.
Camp Street Café & Restaurant is also a Fáilte Ireland approved Tourist Information Office and Dessie certainly knows his history. If you are looking to trace your ancestors, then Dessie will point you in the right direction.
Behind the cafe and Bed and Breakfast, is a very large car park which accommodates Camper Vans and Motorhomes. The deal is ‘FREE Parking’ if you dine in the restaurant. Your Motorhome is safe here due to our barrier operated car park.
Dessie is also able to cater for groups in small buses and he is well know to entertain these groups with Story Telling, Music and Song. If you are looking for a bit of CRAIC, then you have come to the right place.
There is also a Bar here and Dessie will let you ‘Pull Your Own Pint’ #pullyourownpint
Best Fish & Chips In The West!
Dessie offers the ‘Best Fish and Chips in the West’ and if you have been out fishing, then bring your Trout and Dessie will cook it for you.
If you want to stay a night or two, while you tour Connemara, then check with Dessie, as he also has availability for Bed and Breakfast.
